Last Saturday, I had the opportunity to undertake work experience with ECF and take part in a public consultation with Haringey Council. A small team of us were out in Seven Sisters in #Haringey engaging with the public and listening to feedback on Haringey’s draft Walking and Cycling Action Plan (#WCAP).
As someone passionate about healthy living, climate change, and saving our planet, it was a privilege to be able to engage with the community on this topic and gather residents’ thoughts and suggestions in shaping the changes within the Borough. In particular, I thoroughly enjoyed engaging with young people within the community on such important issues. I believe it is important to involve younger generations and to encourage them to voice their opinions on such important issues.
It’s not often people my age are given an opportunity like this. Work experience improves our confidence, communication skills, and develops us for the working world. It was a pleasure to work with the team at ECF.
