Two projects that ECF are proud to have worked on, Hartree in North East Cambridge and the Investing in Woolwich programme, have been shortlisted in this year’s Pineapple Awards.
The Hartree project has been nominated in the community engagement category, recognising the work the entire project team have done to provide residents and stakeholders with the opportunity to shape the masterplan and its accompanying sustainability, transport and stewardship strategies. The proposals are being developed by masterdevelopers LandsecU+I and TOWN, on behalf of the landowners, Cambridge City Council and Anglian Water. A series of innovative engagement tools have been used to garner feedback on the project, including the recruitment, through a sortition process, of a demographically representative panel of the local community who input into the design process, and the roll out of a cargo bike roadshow programme across the city. ECF has worked closely with LandsecU+I and TOWN to craft the programme and then implement it.
Proposals for Woolwich Town Centre have been shortlisted for the Future Public Realm award. The project was led by our partners, LDA Design, who worked alongside a fantastic project team to create proposals that will transform Powis Street and Beresford Square, at the very heart of Woolwich. ECF worked with the team, and Royal Borough of Greenwich, to design and implement a community engagement programme that provided local people with the opportunity to participate in the process. We also engaged with local stakeholder groups, and the market traders, to ensure the implementation of the scheme is as seamless as possible. The proposal, which has secured planning consent, is now in the process of being implemented.
Congratulations to all those who have been shortlisted for the Pineapples – we wish everyone the best of luck on awards night.
