Active travel has become an increasingly contested policy issue, and local government is at the forefront of delivery. ECF, alongside Velocity Transport Planning and Modescore, have undertaken a survey of local councillors in England, to form our first annual Active Travel barometer.

We heard from 173 councillors from several different political parties, and across the country, including London boroughs, county councils, and unitary authorities, who are, together, responsible for active travel policy.
