Active Travel Barometer Report

By Oliver Deed

Active travel in England is at a crossroads.

Last year, ECF alongside Velocity Transport Planning and Modescore, surveyed local councillors across England for our first annual Active Travel Barometer report.

The report reveals that councillors across the country recognise the benefits of walking, cycling and wheeling, but delivery on the ground remains fragmented, underfunded and politically divided.

We surveyed 173 councillors across urban, suburban and rural authorities to understand what’s really holding active travel back and what might unlock progress.
