CASE STUDY

Peterborough Station Square.

The project.

ECF worked with Peterborough City Council on the Peterborough Station Quarter project, which aims to create a great point of arrival and place to be for Peterborough on both the East and the West sides of the station. This will improve accessibility and placemaking through the creation of high-quality public space, a new western entrance, and activating the surrounding areas of the station. This will help make the station easier to use and more appealing for residents and visitors alike.

Our role.

Working in close collaboration with Peterborough City Council, ECF have conducted the following engagement activities:

  • An accessibility workshop with representatives from accessibility organisations, such as Camsight and the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB), as well as local accessibility advocates.
  • Pop-ups held across Peterborough city centre, ensuring that all venues were accessible and that accessible materials were available on request.
  • 1-2-1 stakeholder meetings with Cycle Forum and Peterborough Civic Society.
  • A youth webinar.
  • An online survey launched through the online consultation platform Commonplace.

Outcomes.

The feedback collected was collated into an engagement report which will be used to inform the emerging proposals and ensure that any future plans are inclusive of all Peterborough residents.
